Come join us each year for the book sale and summer reading program.
The Library is hosting an open house Saturday, August 31 from 9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. The event is in honor of a Pilcrow Foundation Grant from which the library received ninety-nine new children’s books! The open house will include refreshments. In addition, the library is kicking off the American Library Association’s September Library Card Sign-up Month.
Tiny Tots Story Time
A tiny tots reading program will be held once a month (usually the 1st Thursday) at 10 a.m. Registration (call or email) is required and a parent must attend. Tots ages 18 months to Pre-K will explore colors, shapes, letters, numbers and words with stories, crafts and activities. Program dates will be announced online.
Our Day at the Zoo Returns
Check out the zoo book and get a free pass for 4 to the OKC Zoo! Bring the whole family to start you zoo adventure! Voucher good May 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Available while supplies last; one per family, restarts May 2019. #ReadForAdventure
Summer Reading Program
Every summer in June the library hosts a reading program for children and families as part of the Collaborative Summer Library Program. 2019 theme is A Universe of Stories, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon.
- The Library now has books for sale year round! The new book sale tables are in the north lobby.
- The friends of the library hold a book sale, typically, the first weekend in December. The sale includes hardback, paperback, non-fiction, mystery, romance, western, and other fiction books. Donations of books for the sale are accepted just before each sale. Funds raised benefit the Stroud Public Library.
Wilma Elizabeth McDaniel Poetry Contest
Annual High School poetry contest honoring the late Oklahoma poet Wilma McDaniel. 2019 deadline is March 26. Award ceremony April 7. Flyer (PDF)
