Oklahoma’s Governor, Brad Henry has
designated Stroud as Oklahoma’s Winery and Grape Capital.
Stroud is home to several wineries and tasting rooms, as well as
numerous vineyards, offering unique and interesting educational and
tourism opportunities throughout the year. In addition, the
Lincoln County Grape Growers Association website provides a wealth

| Stroud has 3 banks (BancFirst,
Spirit Bank, and Stroud National Bank) with
assests totaling over $4.3 billion. (FDIC, Sept. 2006)
Stroud Regional Medical Center, a
25-bed facility, provides a full range of primary care services
as well as a 24-hour emergency room, inpatient/outpatient
surgery, X-ray and laboratory. The Hospital has
consulting staff doctors in Cardiology, Podiatry, EMT, and
Gastroenterology who practice in Stroud on a semi-monthly
basis. There are 2 clinics in Stroud, Stroud Clinic and Stroud
Regional Clinic, and 1 nursing home, Stroud Health Care
Center, with 58 beds. Practicing in the Stroud area are 3
medical doctors, 2 dentists and 1 optometrist. Home health care and
hospice services are available. There is one pharmacy in
Stroud.
Stroud has 3 primary and secondary schools
with 845 students and 66 teachers and a headstart
program.

Central Technology
Center Central Oklahoma
Technology and Career Center is located in Drumright, 20
miles northeast of Stroud. Central Tech is a leader in
economic development and training. The Business and Industry
Services division provides assistance to small business in the areas
of business planning, accounting, web site development and
e-commerce.
Colleges and Universities The
majority of Oklahoma's major universities and colleges are
within a 75- minute drive, including Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, Tulsa Community College, University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University and

repair, attorney, auto restoration, auto parts, service
and repair, used car sales, machine shop, bank, hair salon, dry
cleaning, conference center, construction, dentist, electric repair,
health club, florist, funeral home, gas company, propane company,
insurance, moving equipment-rental, medical services, oil field
service, equipment and contractors, optometry, mini storage,
tool and die services, truck repair, veterinarian, wrecker
service, tag agency and post office.
Stroud has 1 weekly paper,
Stroud American, and cable television access, Allegiance
Communications and DirecTV.
The Stroud
Public Library has over 12,500 volumes and is part of the
Oklahoma Library Technology Network Oklahoma Union Catalog
interlibrary loan system through which over 6 million items may
be transmitted via internet. The Oklahoma Telecommunications
interlibrary System (OTIS) is also available at the Stroud
Public Library. A section of large-print and audio books
are available and updated annually. The genealogy and local
history section is used extensively.

Stroud Municipal Golf Course is an ideal
spot for family sport and recreation. The 9-hole, 6,292 yard, par
70 course features manicured greens and a series of men's and
ladies' tee boxes. The Clubhouse offers cart rental, snacks, golf
equipment and other merchandise. Stroud Senior Citizens
Center Designed for those over age 60, the center is
coordinated by PROJECT HEART. Services include:
- Serves a nutritious lunch
- Provides hearing tests and hearing aid checks
- Monthly visits by nurses.
- A variety of entertainment going on such as cards, dominoes,
special trips and guest singers and musicians.
Municipal
Fitness Center Offers a wide range of weight and
cardiovascular training equipment. The center has
liberal hours, low fees, and aerobic
classes. There is also a privae fitness center in
Stroud.
Stroud Lake Located 3 miles north and 3
miles east of Stroud. The lake boasts 621 surface acres and offers
boating, fishing, water skiing, overnight camping and swimming at
the white sand beach. Visitors will find picnic tables, barbecue
grills, pavilions, rest rooms with shower facilities, RV pads with
utilities, and bridle paths. Twenty-six campsites with electricity
and water and 50 campsites without electricity are available on a
first come, first serve basis.
Wilderness Challenge
Center Located at Stroud Lake; the Center is operated by the
Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled. The Center has a meeting
facility, a ropes course, a bunkhouse, and is available on a rental
basis for special events.
Foster Park Offers a
public swimming pool, a fishing pond, playground equipment and
picnic facilities. The park complex also includes 4 ball fields,
tennis courts, and a covered pavilion available for group

Sac & Fox Nation,
headquartered 5 1/2 miles south of Stroud, is one of the
community's major employers. The Nation first located in
what is now Lincoln County on a 750,000 acre tract of land in
1869, after moving from the upper peninsula of the Great Lakes
region. The Nation's Capitol Grounds includes:

- 60-bed juvenile detention facility
- Library and Tribal Archives building
- Black Hawk Health Clinic
- Tribal Courthouse (which serves as the center of operations
for the Nation's judicial system)
- U.S.D.A. commodities warehouse,
