Support the Library

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library/Library Society may be contacted by calling Stroud Public Library.
Annual book sales are held in May & December to benefit library needs and support the Summer Reading Program.

The Library Society/Friends of the Library accept donations year-round. Just bring the books to the Library during business hours. Newly published and gently used books may be added to the collection. The library especially depends on such donations in the fall and winter when funds are low. Other items go into the book sales. Donations are particularly welcomed just before a sale! As always, monetary gifts are welcome and can be designated by the donor for a specific purpose.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Stroud Library Society is now partnered with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! Children from 0-5 years old who are registered and live in the Stroud 74079 ZIP code receive a free, age-appropriate book mailed to their home each month. The average retail cost of Imagination Library title is about $14 per book. However, by purchasing in volume, the Imagination Library is able to acquire and mail customized titles for about $2.20 each.
The Stroud Literary Society would appreciate your help to make sure all of the children in the Stroud area may continue to receive such wonderful books in their home. You may bring a check to the Library or donate online at

The library has general filing and book shelving work that may be done by volunteers year-round. However, help is especially needed during Summer Reading Program, typically held each Thursday in June.
